About Me.

General

Education

I grew up on a farm in Tremont, which is just down I-55 from Morton. My husband and I are both teachers (he teaches math at Morton Junior High) and we have 2 little girls, Piper and Haven. Also pictured is our other furry (but very cute) family member, Shiloh. We love to be out and about--going to parks, DQ, and being active in our church. Life is certainly never boring keeping up with my little blessings!

I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Special Education (K-12+) from Illinois State University. I also minored in Spanish and am certified to teach Spanish, Social Studies, and Language Arts through 8th grade. I then attended Bradley University and will be graduating this Spring with my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in special education.

Experience

This is my 6th year as an educator, and each year, I love teaching more and more! Previous to Morton High School, I taught as a functional skills teacher at Metamora Township High School for 4 years. I then went to Limestone High School and co-taught in the general education English classroom for a year. I've always dreamed of being a Potter and I'm so thrilled I can finally call District 709 home.
